Neon Egypt's Music and Poetry
Each of Neon Egypt's 'Haiku' poems
below accompanies a musical piece from their debut CD
Tales Of Kings, and helps tell the story of the album's
mystical artistic journey through the ancient heart of Egypt, Arabia and North Africa. The poems do
not adhere strictly to the
Classic
Japanese Haiku Form, but
melding this with the
Persian Esoteric Form, seek to convey in very few
words the essence of each piece.
The twelve improvised musical pieces
on the album produced themselves spontaneously, each without prior form
or concept. (See
Intuitive Music) All of the poems were written, and the tunes titled,
after the fact. The cuts are numbered sequentially in the order
they appear on the album, with titles
in blue.
